'Podi Lassie's aide arrested for firearms possession

A T-56 Assault Rifle, a pistol, two shot guns, four T-56 magazines with 98 live rounds, micro pistol magazine, 53 numbers of 9 mm rounds, four 12 bore rounds, handcuffs, mobile phone, two smoke grenades and a hand grenade were also taken into custody during the raid.

The Police had also taken 'Podi Lassie's mother for managing finances earned through the smuggling of drugs while she was hiding at Maya Avenue, Pannipitiya, recently (Aug 24).

'Podi Lassie' is serving a jail term in the Boosa Prison which was recently converted to imprison hardcore criminals including wanted drug smugglers.
