Tea party at the Parliamentary complex

COLOMBO (News 1st): Following the inaugural sitting of the 9th Parliament the President, Prime Minister, Ministers and Parliamentarians attended a tea party organized at the Parliamentary complex. Several Ministers and Members of Parliaments expressed their views to the media while attending the tea party. Leader of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) R.Sampanthan praised the Government's Policy Statement. " It is a very peaceful, problem free, policy statement ", he said. Minister of Industries Wimal Weerawansa speaking to the media said, the inaugural session marks the beginning of ensuring that the aspirations of 6.9 million people are realized. "We will support what is good, and oppose that which is wrong. We are ready to do something good for the country", MP Ranjith Madduma Bandara of the SJB said. "This government has a target. Cabinet Ministers and State Ministers have been given targets. We established this government to reach these goals", Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Namal Rajapaksa said while addressing the media. SLPP MP Pramitha Bandara Thennakoon speaking during the tea party said, "the 8th parliament of Sri Lanka brought about the darkest age in the history of the country" and that it was his intention that the 9th Parliament would bring about a Golden Era in the country.
