Prison inmates granted visitations again: Dept. of Prisons

COLOMBO (News 1st): Prison inmates will be allowed visitations again starting Saturday (Aug 15), the Department of Prisons said. The proceedings will recommence, in accordance with health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, Commissioner of Prisons, Chandana Ekanayake said on Saturday (Aug. 15). Visitations granted to prison inmates were temporarily suspended on the 11th of July, after an inmate at the Welikada prison complex, tested positive for COVID-19.
