Cabinet tells Education Minister to declare exam dates

Colombo (News 1st);  The Cabinet of Ministers informed Education Minister Dullas Alahapperuma to declare the dates for the G. C. E. Advanced Level Examination and the Grade 05 Scholarship Examination.

Joint Cabinet Spokesperson Minister (Dr.) Bandula Gunwardena speaking to reporters on Thursday (25) said the Education Minister is to call for talks with the respective stakeholders and declare the exact dates for the elections.

Further, the President had instructed the Health Minister to explore the possibility of increasing the number of students who can attend tuition classes. Earlier, Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe said Social distancing must be practised based on the space in the class while also limiting the maximum number of students to 100.

Tuition classes that do not have sufficient facilities to accommodate 100 students at a time, will be allowed to tutor only half of the total capacity, said Dr. Jasinghe.
