ADB provides guarantee for USD 25 mn loan to Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News1st): The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has provided a guarantee for a 25 million dollar loan to Sri Lanka to purchase medical supplies amidst the coronavirus pandemic. “This assistance will help the State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC) to purchase urgently needed medicines and protective equipment for frontline health workers and patients,” the ADB said in a statement. The supplies to be purchased with the loan will include personal protective equipment such as N-95 medical masks, surgical masks, and medicines to treat coronavirus patients. The ADB noted that the loan "will enable SPC to fulfill its mission to ensure the flow of safe, effective, and high-quality medical supplies in Sri Lanka".
