47 people to leave quarantine facilities today

COLOMBO (News 1st): As of Monday (04th May), 4,795 people are quarantined in the country at 39 quarantine facilities established across the island. "28 of the Quarantine facilities are run by Sri Lanka Army, 06 are run by Sri Lanka Navy, and 05 are run by Sri Lanka Ari Force," told Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva - Acting Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander, to News 1st on Tuesday (05th May). The Army Commander said the 1st batch of Sri Lankans who were repatriated from the United Kingdom and arrived in the island on Monday were directed for quarantine; "Some of them were quarantined at quarantine facilities run by Sri Lanka Army including the Sri Lanka Army Engineer Corps in Diyagama; while certain others were quaratined at two hotels in Waskaduwa and Negombo." Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva emphasized that all the quarantine centres in island, including the ones at the two hotels are under the direct supervision of Sri Lanka Army. According to the Army Commander, so far, 55,042 people have left quarantine facilities upon completing the quarantine period. Another 47 people who successfully completed the mandatory quarantine are scheduled to leave for their residences on Tuesday.
