Colombo (News 1st): The Colombo High Court today (Jan 21) permitted the examination of the revision application filed by the Attorney General against the order granting bail to Former Minister Rajitha Senaratne in relation to the White Van media conference. Colombo High Court Judge Manjula Thilakeratne ordered for the examination to take place on the 05th of March and issued a notice on the Former Minister to appear in court on that day. The Attorney General filed the revision application as the Colombo Chief Magistrate granted bail to Rajitha Senaratne while he was receiving treatment at a Private Hospital in Colombo within a period three days, even before the former Minister could be arrested to record a statement. Rajitha Senaratne is named as the third suspect in the case filed over the White Van media briefing. The Attorney General says granting bail to Senaratne would pose serious obstructions to the investigations. Colombo High Court Judge Manjula Thilakeratne said sufficient facts were put forward to examine the revision application and ordered counsel for Rajitha Senaratne to file objections if any, on the 10th of February. The Attorney General was ordered to file counter objections on the 24th of February. The Attorney General was also ordered to file all necessary documentation on that day to issue notice on Rajitha Senaratne.
