Colombo (News 1st):- UNP MP S. M. Marikkar revealed a plan to lease out yet another valuable land in Colombo for 99 years. He commented on the matter during a media briefing at the Opposition leader’s office.

“We have received new information. A 6-acre plot of land near Lake House is to be leased out to a Hong Kong-based company for 99 years. Isn’t this another way of selling off the country? Then where is this tender procedure that they said they will adopt to ensure transparency?” – he questioned.

Also speaking on the matter, UNP MP Attorney-at-Law Ajith P. Perera says:

“Now we have got information that the government has taken measures to release 34 members of the intelligence and Sunil Ratnayake, as mentioned during the Gotabaya Rajapaksa election campaign. That is how a leader who does what they say works. Therefore I would like to extend my gratitude to president Gotabaya Rajapakse and Minister of Justice Nimal Siripala De Silva for taking this decision.”
