We will review the 19th amendement after swearing-in : Mahinda Rajapaksa

Colombo (News 1st): Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapaksa says he hopes to continue with the current legal framework by reviewing the new situation created by the 19th amendment after the new President is sworn-in. The Opposition Leader issued a statement this afternoon regarding the Presidential victory. Opposition Mahinda Rajapaksa has requested all Sri Lankans to enjoy the victory peacefully without causing any harm to others. Mahinda Rajapaksa says the 19th amendment has created confusion and this year's presidential election is different from all previous presidential elections. Accordingly, the Opposition Leader's aspires to review the 19th amendment and proceed further. In his announcement, he said the opportunity to rebuild the country which was astray for 5 years, has now arrived. Mahinda Rajapaksa says that according to the Presidential Election Manifesto, the economy of the country should be rebuilt from scratch as well as a complete overhaul of the administration and the constitution of the country. He further stated that he intends to provide further details to the public on this matter. The statement issued by the Leader of the Opposition Mahinda Rajapaksa, says he expects that the parliament will act in accordance with the mandate of the government.
