Two constables arrested for accepting bribe of Rs 10,000

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Two police constables have been arrested in Anuradapura for allegedly accepting a Rs 10,000 bribe. Director Investigations SSP Priyantha Chandrasiri of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption said the arrests were made following a tip=off. The constables are attached to the Anuradhapura Police Division. It was reported that the two constables had demanded the bribe promising to alter the complaints lodged in relation to a case where a residence was damaged.
