Suspicious death of 13 year old in Katuwana; one arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st)  A 21-year-old youth has been arrested over the suspicious death of a schoolboy in Puwakkara, Katuwana, Hambantota. Police stated that a broad investigation has been launched into the incident. 13-year-old Nadun Nethsara had passed away under suspicious circumstances yesterday (October 19).  Nadun's mother had found a piece of cloth tied around her son's neck and attached to the window when she returned home. Although the area residents had taken him to the regional hospital, they could not save his life. Nadun was the eldest of two siblings in the family. He was studying in the 8th grade of the Walgammulla Maha Vidiyala in Katuwana at the time of his death. The suspect arrested, is a youth residing in close proximity to his house. The post mortem examination was conducted at the Embilipitiya District Hospital.
