Flight operations between Jaffna - Chennai commences from November 1st

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Civil Aviation Authority states that flight operations between Jaffna and Chennai will commence from November 1st. H.M.C. Nimalsiri, the Director-General of the Civil Aviation Authority said an Indian operator had stepped forward for this initiative and agreed to operate daily flights. He said a journey from Jaffna to Chennai by air, will only take around 50 minutes to an hour. He believes more operators would come forward to operate flights between Jaffna and Chennai. Jaffna International Airport, the third International Airport in Sri Lanka was declared open by President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (October 17).
