Colombo (News 1st): Former Army Commander General Mahesh Senanayake said he is prepared to provide leadership to make a change in the country. Speaking to News 1st, the former Army Commander said requests were made to him from a collective comprising intellectuals, experts and businessman to take leadership of an alternative group.

Senanayake said he is currently studying the process and would make a decision in the coming weeks. Further, he stressed reports suggesting he was named as a presidential candidate are false.
