Colombo (News 1st) – The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) informed the court today (September 18) that the relatives of Mohammed Azam Mohamed Mubarak, the suicide bomber who carried the attack on the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo on 04/21, have refused to accept his remains.
Accordingly, Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake ordered the Chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo to hand over the body parts to the Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretary.
The magistrate further ordered the Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretary to take necessary steps to bury the remains of the terrorist at the Borella cemetery. The Grama Seva officer in charge of Borella was ordered to submit a report to the court, on the burial of the suicide bomber.
