Compensation for houses damaged by strong winds - DMC

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Disaster Management Centre states that compensation will be provided for many houses that were damaged in various parts of the island due to the recent strong winds. Assistant Director of the department, Chaminda Pathiraja states that 8200 houses were damaged due to the winds in July and August. He said that an initial instalment of Rs. 10,000 has already been provided as compensation. He added that the process of estimating the compensation of the damaged houses has been completed.
