Mahindananda makes revelation on SLPP proposal to the SLFP

Colombo (News 1st): What did the SLPP propose to the SLFP to jointly contest the Presidential Election? Parliamentarian Mahindananda Aluthgamage revealing the details today (September 11) noted that the SLPP has worked according to the requests made by the SLFP. He said now Dayasiri Jayasekara is hanging onto the matter surrounding the symbol. He added that Mahinda Rajapaksa, the candidate and all the other parties in the Alliance had discussions on this matter together and all of them agree the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna represents this country's largest political force at present. When questioned if there was an agreement on giving SLFP two positions in the alliance, he noted that they agreed to give one not two. He noted that the final decision will be given through the discussions. He noted that they have not legally or officially decided, therefore, they did not say. He added that the Leader will be Mahinda Rajapaksa, the secretary will be theirs and so will be the Chairman.
