JVP Presidential candidate to be announced on 18th

COLOMBO (News 1st):- The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna convening a media briefing today (August 15) commented on the party's preparations for the upcoming Presidential elections. General Secretary of the party, Tilvin Silva said that their front is not something that was put together in a rush and that it is completely a force and movement of the people. He further said that the inaugural rally of this movement will be held on the 18th of this month at the Galle Face Green where they will present their candidate. When questioned if their candidate will have the required political expertise, Tilvin Silva responded that the best candidate will be fielded from their faction, a person who has many experiences in the political arena and a person who can go toe-to-toe with the rest of the candidates.
