Ruhuna University; Wellamadama premises reopens tomorrow

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The administration of the University of Ruhuna has decided to open three faculties of the Wellamadama premises tomorrow(July 17). The Faculty of Science, Faculty of Fisheries, Marine Sciences and & Technology and the Faculty of Post Graduate studies are to commence operations tomorrow. The decision was taken during a discussion with the Vice-Chancellor Professor Sujeewa Amarasena and all the faculty heads. Students who receive accommodation at the hostels have been instructed to report to their hostels by noon today(July 16). The faculties were closed indefinitely for the safety of students and employees due to the violent behaviour of the students, vandalism and attacks on non-academic staff members.
