Colombo (News 1st): General Secretary of JVP Tilvin Silva expressed his views on the current political situation in the country after the terror attacks, during a media briefing held in Matale. He noted that all other issues except for issues on national security have been buried and this has easily paved the way for culprits to power by simply bringing up the issue on national security. He added the public saw how the politicians have started to use this issue as a shortcut to power. If the imperialism of the United States created and nourished international terrorism, it is Mahinda who created the theme for it in this country. Tilvin said Mahinda created it and Ranil continued with it, no changes were made, and therefore both are responsible. He noted that according to the Prime Minister Sri Lanka is not able to prevent terrorism, due to the lack of the counter-terrorism act and the PM had promised before the international community to change the prevention of terrorism act and bring the counter-terrorism act. He went onto note that this is why he (PM) keeps on saying that there is no bill to prevent terrorism, terrorism can't be avoided, however, the reality is not that there's no act but because the prime minister is weak, no matter how many acts the country has there's no use if the prime minister is weak.
