Welcome rain in most areas : Beware of thunder and lightning

Colombo (News 1st): The Meteorology department issuing its latest weather advisory warns of showers accompanied by severe lightning and thunder that are likely to occur in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Uva, North-Western, North-Central and Western provinces and in Mannar district. Heavy falls above 100 mm can be expected at some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva, Western and North-Western provinces and in Mannar and Anuradhapura districts. The Department added that strong winds up to 70-80 kmph are also possible during thundershowers.
