We have businessmen not rulers : JVP Uva Provincial Councillor

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Several analyses on the current economic status of the country were shared by political and civil organization representatives. Co-convener of the Purawesi Balaya Organization, Saman Rathnapriya noted that although multiple tax reforms were introduced in the recent past a considerable tax revenue is not generated in the country. JVP Uva Provincial Councillor, Samantha Vidyaratna argued that the rulers are more business oriented than politically driven. He added that rulers sell women, education, drugs, government departments, lands and industries among many other things for their personal gain.
