Motor accidents across the country claim 3 lives

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Three persons lost their lives in separate accidents that occurred in Nochchiyagama, Pooneryn and Kegalle. A 48-year-old biker had collided on to a lorry at the pola junction, Nochciyagama resulting in his death. In Pooneryn a motorbike and a tractor collided and claimed the life of the 20-year-old biker. Police noted that the driver of the tractor was arrested for further questioning. Another accident took place in Karandupana junction, Kegalle where a van knocked down a pedestrian. The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. Police stated that the van driver was arrested.
