Gotabaya gears up for Presidential election

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa notes that around 60% of the population of the country is now at a poverty level. Speaking at the annual gathering of 'Viyath Maga' the former defence secretary said that the society does not talk about the issue of poverty. He continued to say that most of the leaders of the Asian countries were close to their people and their country and that they should also do the same by creating awareness and solving issues of the general public and thereby achieve one's desired goals.
