Bus fares to be reduced tonight

Colombo (News1st): The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation states Ceylon Transport Board and private bus fares will be reduced by 4% from midnight today (December 26). However, the Rs. 12 minimum bus fare will not be changed. Accordingly the highest bus fare of Rs. 965 has been reduced to Rs. 924 as per the new revision. Meanwhile, Lanka Private Bus Owners Association President Gemunu Wijeratne said that the minimum bus fare could be reduced if the bus priority lane was implemented legally.
