Colombo (News1st): In light of several recent fuel price reductions, discussions on reducing bus fares are due to take place at the Finance Ministry on Monday (December 24).
The government slashed the price of a liter of petrol by Rs. 10, while the price of diesel was reduced by Rs. 5 rupees from midnight yesterday (December 21).
The Ministry of Finance and Mass Media issuing a communiqué noted that the government expects passenger, three-wheeler, and school transport mediums to reduce fare prices, accordingly.
It added that regulatory agencies in the transport sector are expected to take appropriate measures.
