Meeting between President, MR and the UPFA

Colombo (News 1st) - Members of the United People's Freedom Alliance met at the presidential secretariat this evening. The meeting was chaired by President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa. MP Rohitha Abeygunawardana speaking to the media stated that they will make future decisions following a party leaders meeting which will be presided over by the President and the Prime Minister. He noted that an election is a basic function of democracy and that they will carry out a program to ensure that the people's right to vote is upheld. MP S. B. Dissanayake stated that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa is the one who ended the war, united the country and initiated the fastest development drive our country has seen. He went on to state that minor issues in Parliament will not stop Rajapaksa and that hee will  continue to serve as the PM with the support of his cabinet Ministers. MP Dilan Perera speaking to the media stated that they discussed and agreed to attend the parliamentary session set for Thursday (Nov 15) and work according to the agenda. He adds that he is certain that the Prime Minister in Parliament tomorrow will Mahinda Rajapaksa as there is no new Prime Minister selected.
