COLOMBO (News 1st) - Speaking at an event held in Moratuwa, Minister of National Integration, Reconciliation & Official Languages, Mano Ganeshan said that people from the previous government are seated on their side now although it was they who shouted for, fought for and got beaten up for speaking on behalf of the present government. The Minister claimed that although he has no problem with it, the promises they gave the general public could not be fulfilled because of it. Mano Ganeshan said that so many pundits had opted for 200 days instead of 100 for the government and that their wish was granted. He continued to say that if the parliament had been dissolved back then on the 10th of January 2016 before the end of 100 days, they could have at least gained 120 MP's on their side. "In the next parliament, according to the 18th amendment to the constitution, the Prime Minister will have more power than the president. Therefore, the UNP has a responsibility to reveal the Prime Minister candidate" added the Minister.
