COLOMBO (News 1st) – Five members of the same family sustained injuries and were hospitalised following a motor accident in  Uththalapura, Dehiattakandiya on Sunday (October 14).

The father aged 35 and two children aged 14 and 10 succumbed to their injuries upon admission to the hospital.

The third son succumbed to his injuries today (October 15) after being transferred to the Polonnaruwa hospital.

Police said that the mother of the boy is still in critical condition.

The incident occurred yesterday (October 14) at around 5.00 PM when the motorbike the victims were traveling in collided with a tipper truck in Sandunpura – Lihiniyagama road.

The driver of the tipper was arrested following the accident.
