Term of National Police Commission ends today

COLOMBO (News 1st) -The National Police Commission's term ends today (October 14). A spokesperson for the commission said although the term ends today that the existing members will continue performing their duties until new members are appointed by the Constitutional Council. P. M. Manathunga acts as the present chairman of the commission. Over 5000 complaints have been lodged against the Police over the past three years with the commission. Most of the complaints are related to the negligence of official duties.
