COLOMBO (News 1st) 

1. Minister of Finance stated that there has been no reduction made from 24% to 15% to the tax rates used for calculating the income tax and PAYE tax for Doctors. 

2. Two trains collided in Panaliya last evening (August 06) injuring 32 people.

3. Five suspects along with a firearm and Rs 16.5 million of the stolen money from an ATM robbery last month were taken into police custody yesterday.
