JO seeks recognition as the main opposition group

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Joint opposition has decided to write to the Speaker of parliament requesting him to officially recognise them as the main opposition party in Parliament. Parliamentarian Dullas Allahaperuma said that the group of parliamentarians had spoken with the Speaker regarding this issue yesterday and that they were asked to make the request in writing. Alahaperuma said the letter will be signed by 70 parliamentarians.
