OIC caught red handed while accepting a bribe

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The OIC of the administrative branch of the Kalkuda Police has been arrested by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption while accepting a bribe of Rs. 300,000. The Commission said the OIC had demanded a sum of Rs. 500,000 as a bribe from a businessman in Veyangoda, in order to issue a letter to obtain an environmental permit. The OIC was arrested this afternoon while he was accepting Rs. 300,000 of the total sum in the Koralepaththu Pradeshiya Sabah in Valachchenei.
