Unemployed Graduates Association face difficulties due to delay in appointments

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Unemployed Graduates Association says that a number of qualified graduates are facing difficulties as a result of a 6-month delay of the appointments for the National Child Protection Authority. The number of qualified graduates stands at 116. The convener of the Unemployed Graduates Association, Tenne Gnanananda Thero, claims that authorities are purposely delaying the appointments producing various reasons. When News 1st inquired from the National Child Protection Authority, an officer said the delay was inevitable as it was illegal to grant appointments during the time that local government elections were being held. He further noted that certain problems have arisen regarding those who qualify for the relevant appointments and that an investigation has been launched at the ministerial level.
