COLOMBO (News 1st) – State Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development and Rural Economic Affairs Dilip Wedaarachchi issuing a media release noted steps will be taken to reduce the price of a liter of kerosene to around Rs. 70 or Rs. 80 by Monday (June 11).

According to the media release, the decision was arrived at following discussions with the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and officials of the Treasury.

According to State Minister Dilip Wedaarachchi the price reduction was prompted by hardships faced by the fishing community and other low income families.
