Fire destroys a Tea factory in Nivithigala

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - A tea factory located at an estate in Webotuwa, Wewalkandura in Nivithigala was completely destroyed in a fire. The cause for the fire is yet to be ascertained. The fire broke out in the two-storeyed tea factory yesterday (June 1) evening. According to our correspondent, the Ratnapura Urban Council Fire Brigade together with locals and the Police attempted to douse the fire, but their attempts were unsuccessful. There were no casualties reported, but the area experienced a cloud of smoke today (June 2) morning.
