Colombo (News1st) – The North Western province branch of the Public Health Inspectors (PHI) Union of Sri Lanka has decided to launch a token strike.
General Secretary of the union Mahendra Balasuriya said that the strike will be launched calling on officials to fullfill 8 demands. He added that members of the association will refrain from engaging in dengue eradication programs as well.
Meanwhile, the work to rule campaign launched by the Engineers Union of the CEB will continue for the 5th day today (May 14th).
Chairman of the Union Saumyakumara Waduge said that the trade union action was launched due to the failure to implement the long-term power generation plan.
