Body of a police constable found

COLOMBO (News 1^st) - The Body of a Police Constable attached to the Weeraketiya Police, was found in Bakamulla, Weeraketiya today (May 14). According to the Police, the Constable's relatives had lodged a complaint with the Weeraketiya Police as he had not returned home since the 9^th of this month. The victim is a 53-year-old father of two. Police said the body of the Police Constable was found this morning in a forest area close to his residence. The magisterial inquest was conducted by the Acting Magistrate of Walasmulla. The cause of death is yet to be revealed while the victim's remains have been sent to the Hambantota General Hospital for the post-mortem examination to be conducted.
