President Sirisena meets with foreign ambassadors

COLOMBO (News1st) - A special meeting was presided by President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday, to inform foreign ambassadors of the current situation in the country. The president expressed that a peaceful atmosphere has now been established despite the violence reported over the last few days. President Sirisena highlighted the measures taken to establish peace and harmony. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe was also present at the meeting. Meanwhile, the visiting United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Jeffrey Feltman called on President Maithripala Sirisena last morning. Hence, they met at the president's official residence. Jeffrey Feltman commented on the measures taken by the president to establish democracy, peace and reconciliation.
