JO to recommend for no confidence motion against the Premier

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The parliament is scheduled to convene at 1 p.m. today, under the patronage of Speaker Karu Jayasuriya. The Joint Opposition said it plans to present the recommendation for a no confidence motion against the prime minister during today's parliament sessions. Speaking at a media briefing yesterday, Udaya Gammanpila, leader of the Pivithuru Hela Urumaya said the motion which consists of 14 charges against the prime minister has garnered the support of the top tier of the Joint Opposition, Sri Lanka Freedom Party and the United National Party. He added that he hopes the motion will receive the support of the members of the JVP and TNA.
