Investigations launched into Kahagolla bus explosion

COLOMBO (News1st): Police noted that investigations into the explosion that occurred in a bus in Kahagolla in Diyatalawa are continuing.A senior police official said the bus was engulfed in flames following an explosion. The government analyst confirmed this state following an inspection of the bus. Army Media Spokesperson, Brigadier Sumith Atapattu, said this incident is not linked to terrorism. Nineteen people who were injured were admitted to the Diyatalawa Base Hospital. The injured, include seven army personnel, five Air Force personnel and seven civilians. Director of the hospital, Ranjith Abeyakoon, said two soldiers are in critical condition. The Army Media Spokesperson said the Military Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
