The Disaster Management Centre says that Gampaha – Ja-Ela and Gampaha – Ganemulla roads have been inundated after the Attanagalu Oya overflowed.
Assistant Director of the Gampaha Divisional Secretariat, Ajith Nishantha said that several areas in Attangalla, Gampaha and Wattala have also been flooded.
Meanwhile, Assistant Director of the Kalutara District Disaster Management Centre, Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Jayasinghe said the water level of Kalu ganga, which reached minor flood level from the Millakanda area, is now reducing gradually.
The Met Department, issuing a weather advisory, says that fairly strong winds can be expected over the country, particularly in Northern, North-central and North-western Provinces from tomorrow.
The Met Department also predicts several spells of light showers will occur at Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces and in Galle and Matara Districts.
