A special committee has been appointed to conduct an investigation into the alleged shooting of a group of Indian fishermen.Army spokesperson Brigadier Roshan Seneviratne said that the Navy had also been informed in this regard.
Speaking to News 1st, the Navy Media Spokesperson Lieutenant Commander Chaminda Walakuluge said that a committee will be appointed to conduct the investigations and submit a report within two weeks.
Indian media reported that on March 6, a 22-year-old Indian fishermen had died in a shooting carried out in the seas off Kachchatheevu. However, the Sri Lanka navy has denied allegations that they were involved in the shooting.
