A team representing Sri Lanka emerged victorious on Sunday, September 11, in the world final of the Campus Cricket T20 tournament which was held at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
The Sri Lankan team defeated the Bangladeshi team by 24 runs.
Batting first, the team from Sri Lanka amassed a total of 191 for 9, with Ranitha Liyanaarachchi top-scoring with 52 runs. Arifur Rahman picked up three wickets for the Bangladeshi team.
The Bangladeshi team failed to get enough traction in their runchase and were restricted to 167 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. HGKD Jayawickrema picked up four wickets for the Sri Lankan team.
Ranitha Liyanarachchi who also picked up a wicket in addition to his performance with the bat, was adjudged Man of the Match.
