Today marks the 150th Police Day.

Religious observances were held on Saturday monring in line with the National Police Day.

Buddhist religious observances were held at the Hunupitiya Gangarama Temple under the Patronage of the Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara.

Catholic religious observances were held at the St. Mary’s Church in Bambalapitya while Hindu religious observances were held at the Kathiresan Kovil in Bambalapitya.

The IGP also held Islamic religious observances at the Dewatagaha Jumma Masjid.

A theme song and the first day cover for the 150th National Police Day was launched under the auspices of the Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development Sagala Ratanayake and IGP Pujith Jayasundara.
