General secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), Minister Duminda Dissanayake says that prospective candidates who disregarded the party’s invitation for interviews, and those who publicly tore such invitations, will be regarded as individuals who have left the SLFP.
The Minister made this statement during the SLFP Womens’ Congress which is currently underway in Colombo.
President Maithripala Sirisena is also present at the event.
The workshop titled a strong country and a sustainable tomorrow was held today with the objective of increasing female representation to 25 percent.
The female representatives at the event requested that steps be taken to increase the female representatives to 25 percent at the upcoming local government election.
A number of high ranking members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party were also in attendance at the workshop. Views were expressed regarding those who tarnish the discipline of the party.
