Saudi Arabia ended the month of Ramadan amongst a wave of terror attacks.
The region experienced three attacks within the span of 24 hours and has been linked to the IS, however there has been no claim of responsibility so far.
Two of the attacks have been deemed unsuccessful, but four people were killed in the third. The attacks were seemingly coordinated and had targeted both Saudi security forces and Western interests.
According to the state-run Saudi Press Agency, the first attack occurred before dawn near the U.S. Consulate in Jeddah and the attacker killed only himself after detonating an explosive and policeman were injured in the attack. The Saudi Interior Ministry has identified the Jeddah bomber as Pakistani national Abdullah Qlazar Khan.
According to the ministry the 34 year old blew himself up using an explosive event and lived in Jeddah with his wife.
The second attack took place in eastern Saudi Arabia in Qatif , where the attacker attempted to launch an attack at a Shiite mosque but failed, killing himself in the process. There were no injuries reported.
The deadliest attack occurred in Medina, where four were killed and another wounded. The city is a major spot in Islam because that’s where the Prophet Mohammed is buried.
