The Government Medical Officers Association has decided to commence token strikes in several hospitals across the country today, Monday, July 4.
Secretary of the Association Dr. Nalin De Soysa says protests will be staged based on several issues including graduates of the Malabe Medical Faculty registering with the Sri Lanka Medical Council.
Government Dental Surgeons’ Association and the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Medical Association will also be involved in the strike.
Deputy Minister of Health, Nutrition and Medicine Faizal Cassim said that hospitals will not face a threat in carrying out their activities due to this strike.
