The Met Department states that due to the atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka windy, wet weather is expected to be enhanced over the country and surrounding sea areas on Saturday, May 14.

Cloudy skies are also expected over the most parts of the country due to the atmospheric disturbance. Showers or thundershowers will occur at most places in the Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva and Eastern provinces.

Thundershowers will occur elsewhere particularly during the afternoon and night. Heavy falls are also likely at some places, particularly in the southern half of the country.

There may be temporary localised strong winds during thundershowers. General public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimise damages caused by lightning activity.
