Tensions soared on Saturday between a group of graduates and supporters of the  Sri Lanka Freedom Party who visited the Southern Province Minister of Education.

The Southern Province Graduates Collective had organised a demonstration opposite the Sanasa Hall in Matara where a Sri Lanka Freedom Party members meeting was taking place on Saturday morning.

The demonstration was to protect the discrepancies that took place in making teaching appointments.
