Minister Ravi Karunayake responded to the allegations made against him.

Minister of Finance, Ravi Karunanayake stated that 35 persons had arbitarily destroyed the country’s economy since under the Rajapaksa administration, the funds that were meant for the people, were directed to their own pockets.

Explaining further, he noted that the profit made by the ports last year was Rs.15 billion, but during Mahinda Rajapaksa’s rule it was Rs.3000 million, as the expenses were Rs.4000 million summing up to a total loss of Rs.18,000 million.

He added that this occurred after the loan installments, and the interest paid there is no income or profit, which is the burden they have to bear.
